Hello,
We are about to use the Minipod at 115k Baud. We would like to know if the following procedure is right for establishing the connection between our NT machine and the Minipod.

1. Use JTAG and flash the serial bootloader (s record file).

2. Detach the JTAG

3. Use a communications program (NMI Term) to tranfer the IsoMax code over the serial port using a DB9-10 pin cable. (J4 port open).

Other queries when using the RS232 scheme,

4. Do we need to enable the Serial Bootloader or is it auto-enabled? I mean once it is flashed it becomes active?

5. Is the boot loader a utility to condition the RS232 communication to take place at 115K Baud instead of the regular 9600 Baud ?

It would be great if someone could help us on this.

Thanks,
karthik sankaran

Serial Bootloader communicates at 115K baud.

Both Serial Bootloader, and IsoMax Kernel require JTAG cable to load. At the present time, both are designed to run its own application programs at a specific address, which mean only Serial Bootloader, or IsoMax can be used one at a time to handle its own applications. Where Serial Bootloader accepts the srecord file , and IsoMax can download its own Ascii or text program through serial communication interface.

We are trying to get the minpod to work with ISOMAX at 115Kbaud. We flashed bootloader.S, somehow we thought that was the right thing to do. Now we just get the bootloader prompt, no ISOMAX. Are we screwed?

What to do?

I emailed karthiks an IsoMax srecord file with the default serial for 115K baud to upgrade the kernel. I assumed you both work together in the same group.

Yes, we do.
