We tend to try to meet the market where we can best serve. You know there are so many cheap computers out there with video, keyboard, mouse, etc., that we can't compete with their prices as they sell in huge volumes. Plus they seem to change every few months. So we try to focus on the embedded market with products that will last decades, rather than months. About the furthest we go for HMI (human machine interface) is a very common LCD and keypad interface. That is usually enough. So we often provided direct connection to LCDs, and have keypad interfaces. Our idea beyond those basics is to have an easy interface to the cheap computer that has video, keyboard, mouse, etc. etc. which for the last 20+ years has been RS232. Now we're seeing that change, and we're adding some USB to our boards. Eventually, I'm sure it will be Bluetooth or some other RF interface.
