I have a DOS computer set up with maxTerm installed. When I launch the program, I get the green screen, I can go through the help menu and everything, but I can't type anything, even if my IsoPod is plugged in.

Am I going about this wrong?

Most likely, you have to set the port to the one you are using. I think Alt-H will get you a help list of commands.

Alt-1, Alt-2, Alt-3, Alt-4 selects COM1,2,3,4

Alt-B changes baud rate.

Yeah, the comm port is on the right one. I've found that if I change the baud rate to anything above 9600, I can type, but it comes out scrambled, all extended ascii text.
I'm thinking it has something to do with line pacing, perhaps? That seems to change what base it interprets text as.

Not very likely. Line Pacing has to do with the rate at which the line turns around on download, and as I understand it, you're still trying just to type.

What about handshaking? Sometimes the UARTs won't function without handshaking signals wrapped back. Do you have the RTS wired to CTS and DTR wired to DSR?

I have it on mostly default settings. Could you walk me through setting that up?

Ow, I also have the Development Kit_V2, if that helps.

As far as i know, Maxterm is only supported Com 1 & 2, and the baudrate up to 38,400 baud. Where the latest IsoMax V0.82 the serial default at 115,200 baud. If you do not have a PC running Win9x/2000/XP please email me techsupport@newmicros.com. I can't change the MaxTerm to support higher baudrate but I can reflash your IsoPod with the IsoMax language running standard baudrate, 9600 so it can communicate with Maxterm program.

So, we just decided to use Windows XP and it works fine.

Thanks, though.
