What's the minimum to start programming in Forth?

Is a terminal emulator and serial port sufficient or is external software required?

That's is very much what you need, along with the notepad, or wordpad, or some sorts of ascii text editor to write your program with in order to program with any NMI's microcontroller with resident Max-FORTH or IsoMax language.
