FATAN takes a single value and takes the arc tangent of that value.

But as this trig function is used, it is usually about finding the ratio of two sides of a triangle to learn something about the third. So why do the division as a separate step?

FATAN2 takes two values, and determines their ratio and then takes the arc tangent of those two values.
