Hi,

Does anyone know of any technical papers, journal papers or conference papers that discuss about Isostructure or VPMA?

If you've read about IsoStructures, then you've read the document from our web site. This is the only source I know of discussing IsoStructures, it's the document I originally wrote describing what I'd figured out about Structure and Real Time implications.

On the other hand, these concepts are being studied at MIT, Yale, UTA, Univ. of Arizona, NASA, and of course, at the University of Northern Iowa in the physics department, in the "Introduction to Robotics" class I'm teaching.

The actual amount of research we've found active on such issues and FSM's in general is very spares, which indicates to me great potential for these ideas once they do attain wider exposure.

Hi, has the name of that course been changes to "Artificial Intelligence"?

No, actually it is an experimental course on robotics, the focus is on Mini-Sumo robots to teach basic mobile robotics principles, and will end with the class having a self-competition.

So far they're pretty pleased with the course, it's just barely mid-semester and they are just now getting their Mini-Sumos to fight. Lat week they were line following. The rest of the semester will be about other interfaces and sensors, do the individual student can modify his Sumo to be more competitive for the final competition.

This was a replacement for their Electronics II course, having not had an instructor for about 7 years. They used to send their students to Industrial Tech for a microprocessor/digital course, but they lost their instructor kast spring too. So I was in a fortuitous place when I was promoting the idea of a Mini-Sumo course to then. I offered to help them write the course. When they found out they had the equipment to allow remote teaching, they asked me to join the staff as an Adjunct Instructor. So this spring I'm teaching the "Introduction to Robotics" course. They'll probably offer it every other year in the future.

So far AI is still beyond us I think. But we've been having a very lively discussion on the subject on the DPRG discussion list. I've been suggesting the inclusion of states as emotions could be the next AI breakthrough. Who knows? AI has been stalled for several years.

Thank you very much for your reply.

How can I access the DPRG Discussion list?
