Hi,

I recently purchased an NMIY0031 to learn more about FORTH and how to apply it to microcontrollers. There are plenty of examples for FORTH in the documentation, but I was wondering if there was a description or definition of the words, and more programming information available. Also, would I have been better off with a newer product like the ISOPod or something similar that also uses FORTH? Like MPE on the 2131?

Thanks

All our Max-Forth's are very similar. So the NMIY-0031 is a great low cost way to get going in Forth. We usually rely on our HC11 and HC12 Forth documentation for word definitions.

If you haven't gone to the downloads page and seen the "Starting Forth" book from Leo Brodie, you're missing a treat. It was one of the best descriptions of Forth ever written. While there are minor variations from implementation to implementation in a few words, this is a wonderful book to get "your bearings on" for almost any Forth.

Hi,

Thanks for the information. I have seen the book and it is very good. I did purchase a TinyArm, haven't got it yet though so I will try that too. BTW the Keil IDE is fantastic.
