View Full Version : I may have corrupted IsoMax for my 2106 USB
I may have corrupted the IsoMax loaded in my 2106 USB board. Where can I find instructions for reloading the .hex file ? Is a special cable required ?
Please follow the link to download the Philips Flash Utility
http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/files/products/standard/microcontrollers/utilities/lpc2000_flash_utility.zip
This can be used to reload the hex file through a serial link, like the USB connection.

1. Put a jumper on J8 to ground port P0.14 . This setup will activate serial boot loader when reset or power up mode.
2. Use Phillips flash utility program Dave mentioned on the previous post to download the IsoMaxV1.0P.HEX provided on the 3 1/2 diskette when you purchased & signed IsoMax license agreement. If you misplaced it, please email nmisales@newmicros.com to request for a copy
3. You must use serial port SCI0, DB9 RS-232 connection on NMIN-2106-USB1 with Phillips flash utility program.
4. Remove jumper J8 for normal operation
Thanks for the help I got.
The flash loader appears to work. It went through a series of RAM loads.
When I tried verifying the load, it reported failure.
The 2106 USB board still does not work.

You don't have to go through the Compare Flash to verify. As long as you got the message "File Upload Successfully Completed" on the lower left hand corner. Besure to check the followings jumper configurations:
1. You must remove jumper J8 for the application program or IsoMax to executes.
2. Communication jumper configurations,
- SCI0 thru RS-232 DB9 connection. J4 jumpers pin 3 & 4.
- SCI1 thru USB port. J4 jumpers pin 1 & 3 . J7 jumpers pin 1 & 2. J10 jumpers pin 9 & 10.
- SCI1 thru RS-232 J5 connection. J4 jumpers pin 1 & 3 . J7 jumpers pin 2 & 3.
Specifically, J4 jumpers are only used for IsoMax bootup either from SCI0 or SCI1. Other jumpers did not mention above are not related to the serial communication.
The flash process did report "success" .......
Are you saying the "verify" function does not work and gives false results ?
Once I reflashed IsoMax onto the 2106 USB board, I tried to use the words LEDGRN OFF , LEDGRN ON.
Same thing for RED and YEL.
They remained on at all times.
Other GPIO I have tried to access does not change either.
Any suggestions about what I can try ?
IsoMAX does pass simple tests such as 5 5 + . cr
I have not gone beyond that point. Perhaps I will have to buy
another 2106 USB board.

I tried the Compare Flash feature of the Phillips Flash utility on LPC210x and LPC213x products here. All of them are reported Failed after successful uploaded and everything works just fine. I do not have any detail info how or when to use the Compare Flash feature .
Just in case your IsoMax hex file is corrupted, drop me an email nmitech@newmicros.com , I will resend you the file i loaded and tested with so you can verify on your board before you purchase a new one
