Have this drop point, w/68HC811E2FN and trying to connect it up with db9 pin RS232 of laptop computer running windows 2000. Having a real problem with the bootloader echoing back anything. I don't think it is connected right w/db25 pin. Questions would be, what signals are necessary on the RS232 25 pin to communicate with the board? RTS, CTS, DTR, etc. Do I use a null modem adapter and unhook RTS or tie it to CTS, etc, etc. I have added a 9V battery to the board as I think the drive level of the laptop is not enough.

Any other help would be great.

First of all, The Drop point, NMIN-0121 comes with F68HC11FN V3.5 microprocessor which is the same as MC68HC11E9 with Max-FORTH embeded in the ROM.

If you have a 9V battery to power the board, all you need is 3 wires connection or buy an adapter DB25M to DB9F which has the wire connection as below,

NMIN-0121/DB25-----------DB9
Pin2---------------------------PIN3
Pin3---------------------------PIN2
PIN7---------------------------PIN5
