View Full Version : problem...using.. h-bridge...
hi... i'm using hnmix-0030 h-bridge... i think i burnt it out... the Leds are not on anymore ... do i need to get another one??? or is there any way to fix it??
and... another .. question...
without using h-bridge... is there any way to test NMIX-0332 board whethere the PWM signal is being generated from the port properly???
thank you...soso.. much~!!
If the LEDs are no longer on where they had been before, it is a good possibility that the h-bridge is no longer functioning. It might be possible to replace the chip on the bridge, or even the LEDs if they had gone out, however this wouldn't guarantee it would work again as even a trace could be burned. Perhaps if driving a smaller motor, just by using general IO pins and switching them, it might be possible diagnose whether the h-bridge is still working even if the indicators are not. In all likelyhood another h-bridge is needed. It might be good to find out the stats of the motor to be driven, to see if it is beyind the limit of the h-bridge being used.
To test whether a PWM signal is being generated, the best option would be to measure it with an oscilloscope. An alternate method would be to measure with a meter, as it should "average" the output of a PWM. If at 50% duty, the PWM signal should be half of the supply, ie 2.5 volts if the output pin is capable of 5. Yet another method would be to attach a resistor and LED to the pin and see how it brightens or dims according to the duty cycle commanded. If using this method make sure to choose a resistor that limits the currentn to less than the PWM pin can handle.
