I am using the "L" command from the monitor program to try to load the Basic.hex program into an EEPROM in U4. The program doesn't want to load properly, and I'm assuming there may be timing issues. Is there a jumper configuration on the board for EEPROM's?
The 8051 monitor "L"oading command only works for Sram. It does not support for the eeprom.
You need an eprom programmer to burn the Hex files
Edited by: nmitech

Thanks for the prompt reply. I now have the Basic 1.1 running from an eprom in U2.
I assume this next question must be answered in the manual somewhere, but I can't find it. Is there a Basic equivalent of the "L"oad command? How do I load a file from my PC to U3 or U4?
D'oh! Never mind. I had the 32k RAM in U3 instead of U4. Go ahead, tell me RTFM.
To download a BASIC program, in MAXTERM First you must press ALT+P to change the PACING character to hex 3E (ascii '>'), save the new configuration setup then go back to terminal mode and simply press ALT+D and enter you filename.BAS to download.
