Hi

We seem to be facing a very peculiar problem. The ISOPOD on running continuously for about 5/6 hrs behaves strangely. It stops responding on the very same program it has been responding otherwise. Our experiences say that for about 5/6 hrs it stands fine and suddenly decides to stop functioning. Even the PWM pins do not respond.

Is there any explanation for this? One more thing we have noticed is that the ISOPOD heats up a lot and thats when it behaves strange.

I am not pasting the program here as its about 600 lines of code. Please let me know if I can send the file along with the documentation to any mail ID for any of you people to go through it.

Thanks in advance..

If the regulators overheat, they will go into thermal shut down in an attempt to protect themselves. Possibly your supply voltage is a bit high, and the air circulation around the regulators is not sufficient for them to release their heat.

When the 'Pod stops working measure the 5V and 3.3V rails to see if this is the problem.

Adding a heatsink, even if just an aluminium bar to conduct away the heat might help. Or consider the SR option, which is a switching regulator which itself generates less heat than the linear regulators.
